Kirill Tatarinov
Former CTO and Vice President of Corporate Development, BMC Software
Kirill Tatarinov is an independent consultant in the areas of enterprise software, technology M&A; and advanced research. Mr. Tatarinov is involved with several privately held companies as a board member and advisor. He is also providing strategy-consulting services in the areas of Enterprise Management. Additionally, Mr. Tatarinov serves as an advisor to BMC Software’s CEO and President.
Mr. Tatarinov served as senior vice president and chief technology officer for BMC Software, Inc. from October 2000 through January 2002. In this role, Tatarinov was focused on driving the company’s technical vision and strategy including common technology platforms. He was also responsible for four of the company’s business units including Enterprise E-business, Performance and Network Management. Mr. Tatarinov was a key member of BMC’s senior executive team reporting directly to the CEO.
Prior to this position, he was the vice president of corporate development for BMC Software where he was responsible for merger and acquisition, strategic planning and advanced research activities. Under his leadership, BMC completed eight strategic acquisitions including New Dimensions, LTD. ($650M cash transaction, Israel) and Boole&Babbage;, Inc. ($950M stock transaction). Tatarinov was also responsible for PATROL business for BMC Software from 1994-1997, building this business from the ground up to over $100M in revenues in 1997.
Tatarinov was co-founder, chief architect and the head of research and development for Patrol Software, Pty. Ltd. in Sydney, Australia from 1991 through 1994. Patrol Software was the original developer of the industry leading PATROL product. Prior to co-founding Patrol Software in 1991, Tatarinov held positions with several computer and networking companies.
Tatarinov holds a Masters Degree in Computers from the Moscow University of Transport Engineering (MIIT) and a MBA from Houston Baptist University.
In January 2002, Computerworld named Mr. Tatarinov one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders.
