Mike
Turner
- Founder and CEO, Waveset Technologies, Inc.
Mike
is founder and CEO of Waveset Technologies, Inc. He has over 16
years of industry experience in building and growing successful
companies. Most recently, he served as a
founding entrepreneur-in-residence of AV Labs' accelerator
fund, where he advised, evaluated, and recommended new business
proposals for seed-stage and venture investments.
Mike joined AV Labs from
Tivoli
Systems Inc., where he served as vice president and general manager
of its $1.2 billion enterprise business unit. During
his tenure, he held various senior development
and executive management positions, helping the company
grow from a startup to a $1.8 billion industry leader. In 1996,
Mike spearheaded Tivoli's initial entry into the
enterprise security space, resulting in
revenue growth from $0 to $200 million in just two years. His
ability to build strategic development and marketing
organizations led to the successful delivery
of Tivoli's first-ever products in the areas of Internet
management, systems availability, and enterprise management, the
latter
of which won Network World's Product of the Year in 1992. Prior
to Tivoli, Mike worked at Convex Computer Corporation in Dallas.
He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from
The University of Texas at Austin.
Kent
Fuka - General Partner, CenterPoint Ventures
Kent
has worked with three successful, venture-backed start-up companies
since 1980. He served five years as Vice President
of Customer Service at Tivoli Systems and
nine years in product development, marketing and customer
service management positions at Convex. Kent was
also an early employee of Apollo Computer,
where he was responsible for marketing as well as field
sales and service. Kent continues to share his
experience by serving on the boards of several
technology corporations. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science
from SMU.
